Dr. Charis Neocleous

Dr. Charis Neocleous is a highly qualified pediatrician with a strong background in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology. He holds a medical degree (MD) and a PhD in Infectious Diseases-Microbiology from the University of Thessaly in Greece. Dr. Neocleous also completed a two-year training program in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has gained significant experience in pediatric medicine through his work at numerous prestigious hospitals, including the Thriasio General Hospital, Aglaia Kyriakou Children’s Hospital, and the 3rd University Pediatric Clinic of ATTIKON Hospital in Athens.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Neocleous has contributed to academia by teaching. Between 2015 and 2016, he taught the Pathophysiology course to undergraduate nursing students at the Cyprus University of Technology. Since 2020, he has been teaching Pediatrics to undergraduate students at Frederick University as a Visiting Lecturer in the School of Health Sciences.

Dr. Neocleous is also a dedicated researcher with a focus on infections and microbiology. His research primarily involves the study of bacterial pathogens causing respiratory infections in both adults and children. He is particularly interested in applying new microbiological techniques for the detection of these pathogens. His work has been extensively published, with over 40 articles and abstracts in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Additionally, his research has been cited in over 130 studies, further establishing his contribution to the field. He serves as a reviewer for several renowned journals, including the Balkan Medical Journal, Pediatric Immunology, and the Saudi Medical Journal.

Dr. Neocleous is an active member of the European Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID), the Hellenic Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom (GMC). His extensive experience and academic credentials have made him a respected figure in pediatric healthcare, particularly in the areas of infectious diseases and microbiology. Dr. Neocleous continues to provide expert care to his patients at his practice, Neocleous Medical Pediatrics, located in Paphos, Cyprus.
