Dr. Demetra Hadjiyiannis

Dr. Demetra Hadjiyiannis is a highly skilled Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in Paediatric Allergy. With over 10 years of experience in the medical field, she has become a trusted healthcare provider for children, managing a wide range of conditions from newborns to young adults. Dr. Hadjiyiannis’ expertise spans a variety of paediatric issues, including headaches, asthma, eczema, food allergies, constipation, urinary infections, and feeding disorders. Her clinical practice is based in Larnaca, Cyprus, where she operates a medical practice catering to both private and GESY (General Health System) patients.

Dr. Hadjiyiannis’ educational journey began at University College London Medical School, where she graduated in 2009 with a medical degree as well as an intercalated Bachelor of Science in Human Genetics. She went on to complete her Foundation training in the Wessex and London deanery, followed by her specialist Paediatric training in the East of England deanery (Cambridge). During this period, she achieved her MRCPCH membership in 2015, signifying her advanced expertise in paediatrics. In addition to her general paediatric training, she completed further specialist training in Paediatric Allergy at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, obtaining her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) with a focus on this area. Her commitment to providing the best care for children has led her to gain extensive experience in managing both common and rare illnesses affecting children.

Throughout her training, Dr. Hadjiyiannis worked at several prestigious hospitals and tertiary units, including Addenbrooke’s Hospital in the UK, where she gained significant experience in general paediatrics, paediatric allergy, and neonatal intensive care. She has become adept in managing acute conditions in children and is also skilled in handling complex cases. Her qualifications include advanced training in Paediatric Life Support (APLS) and Neonatal Life Support (NLS), with Dr. Hadjiyiannis also being a certified instructor for NLS in the UK.

Dr. Hadjiyiannis is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI). She continues to expand her knowledge by attending various conferences on both General Paediatrics and Paediatric Allergy. Her dedication to furthering her expertise has kept her at the forefront of paediatric care.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hadjiyiannis has a passion for teaching and has been actively involved in mentoring and educating medical students and paediatric trainees.
