Dr. Yiolanda Herodotou is a highly qualified pulmonologist based in Limassol, Cyprus, specialising in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of respiratory conditions. With a strong educational and professional background, Dr. Herodotou has dedicated her career to helping patients manage and overcome pulmonary diseases such as bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung diseases, respiratory infections, and malignant lung tumours. Dr. Herodotou graduated from St. John’s University in New York City, USA, before completing her medical degree at Aristotle University School of Medicine in Thessaloniki in 2010. She continued her residency training at Limassol General Hospital in Cyprus, followed by specialized training in Pulmonology at the 2nd University Hospital of the Attikon General University Hospital in Athens from 2013 to 2017. During her residency, she gained extensive experience in managing complex respiratory conditions, including obstructive lung diseases, vascular diseases, and diffuse interstitial lung diseases, such as pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis. These conditions are treated at the 2nd University Pulmonology Clinic, which is renowned as a reference centre for such diseases.
Throughout her training, Dr. Herodotou actively contributed to research, presenting papers at national and international pulmonology conferences and participating in seminars on COPD and smoking cessation. The research she was involved in has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. In recognition of her expertise, Dr. Herodotou received her specialist diploma in Pulmonology in October 2017, following which she completed a six-month fellowship in the Sleep Disorders and Sleep Apnoea Laboratory at Attikon University General Hospital. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the University of Athens Medical School.
After returning to Cyprus, Dr. Herodotou worked as an attending pulmonologist at the Pulmonology Clinic of the General Hospital in Limassol until 2020. She now runs her private practice in Limassol, where she continues to provide comprehensive care for patients with respiratory concerns. Additionally, she works at the Blue Cross Medical Center in Paphos, Cyprus.
