Elena Thomaidou

Dr. Elena Thomaidou is a distinguished Dermatologist and Venereologist based in Larnaca, Cyprus, with an extensive background in both clinical and academic medicine. She is currently the head of her own clinic, Thomaide’s Clinic, where she provides expert care in dermatology and venereology. Her clinical expertise is complemented by her role as a Clinical Associate at the University of Nicosia, where she has contributed to the education and training of future healthcare professionals since 2019.

Dr. Thomaidou’s education and training are marked by international experience and a strong commitment to excellence. She began her medical journey at Trinity College in Dublin, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB, BCh) and Bachelor of Arts in Obstetrics (BAO). In recognition of her academic ability, she was awarded the prestigious Entrance Exhibition Award in Medicine in 2007. Following her medical degree, Dr. Thomaidou gained further expertise in dermatology and venereology at the University of Athens, Greece, and completed her residency in Dermatology at Hadassah Medical Centers in Jerusalem, where she spent four years honing her skills in clinical dermatology and venereology.

Dr. Thomaidou’s training continued with advanced qualifications, including the European Board of Dermatovenereology Diploma (EBDVD) and fellowship status with the European Board of Dermatology-Venereology (FEBDV). She also pursued postgraduate studies, obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) in Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine from The University of Manchester, where she specialised in skin rejuvenation and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, including injectables and laser treatments. Her research during this programme focused on the Registry of Adverse Events in Aesthetic Procedures, underlining her dedication to patient safety and the science behind aesthetic medicine.

Additionally, Dr. Thomaidou holds a Diploma in Dermoscopy from the University of Wales, Cardiff, a certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and has attended numerous specialized courses such as the GA2LEN Urticaria School and ACLS course. Her academic pursuits and certifications ensure that she stays at the forefront of dermatological and aesthetic advancements.
