Dr. Ioannis Dimitriou

Dr. Ioannis Dimitriou is a highly accomplished and well-respected expert in holistic and integrative medicine, with a particular focus on Chinese Medicine. He is the president of the Hellenic Association of Chinese Medicine and the Hellenic Partnership of Chinese Medicine, as well as the director of the Athens College of East Asian Medicine. He is also a founding member of the Filiform Fire Needle Medical Company in Hong Kong and has been a leading figure in the field of Chinese Medicine both in Greece and internationally. With over 24 years of clinical experience, Dr. Dimitriou has an impressive background that spans multiple areas of healthcare, including Physiotherapy, Homeopathy, Osteopathy, and Conventional Medicine.

Dr. Dimitriou’s educational journey has been diverse and extensive. He graduated from Medical and Health Care Schools in Athens and Lamia, Greece, as well as from institutions in Tianjin, China, Prague, Czech Republic, and London, UK. His pursuit of expertise in Chinese Medicine led him to spend 13 years in China, where he honed his skills and deepened his knowledge. He completed his PhD in the Theory of Chinese Medicine at Tianjin TCM University, China, and also obtained a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Tuina from the same university. Additionally, he completed a postgraduate course in osteopathic medicine at the renowned London College of Osteopathic Medicine (LCOM), further enhancing his broad range of skills.

Dr. Dimitriou’s commitment to advancing his knowledge did not stop with Chinese Medicine. He recently completed a Master’s in Mental Health Promotion and Prevention of Psychiatric Disorders at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he also published a significant research paper on the efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of stress and quality of life. His diverse academic achievements reflect his passion for integrating various medical disciplines to offer holistic care to his patients.

In his role as an educator, Dr. Dimitriou has been a sought-after lecturer and tutor since 2005. He continues to teach Chinese Medicine internationally, sharing his vast knowledge with students and practitioners around the world. He also manages his own clinic, the YinYang Clinic, in Athens, where he provides comprehensive care that blends Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern healthcare practices.
