Rita Gama is a highly skilled ophthalmologist based in Lisbon, known for her expertise in various areas of ophthalmology. She obtained her degree in Medicine from the University of Lisbon and completed a comprehensive internship in ophthalmology at the Hospital de São José in Lisbon.

 

Currently, Dr. Rita Gama serves as a hospital assistant at Hospital da Luz, where she focuses on the fields of Strabismus, Pediatric Ophthalmology, and Optical Coherence Tomography. She also collaborates with ophthalmology services at Hospital Beatriz Ângelo and Hospital de Vila Franca de Xira as an advisor and trainer, contributing to the advancement of ophthalmological care in these institutions.

 

Dr. Gama has gained valuable experience through international observations in prestigious institutions such as Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and the 11 de Noviembre hospital in Mexico City, where she worked with renowned pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus teams. Additionally, she completed the “Diplome inter-universitaire de Imagerie et pathologie rétinienne” from the Université Diderot de Paris, further enhancing her expertise in retinal imaging and pathology.

 

As an accomplished author, Dr. Rita Gama Lisbon has written the books “Estrabismo para nerds” and “ABC da Diplopia,” sharing her knowledge and insights on these subjects. She actively participates in national and international scientific meetings, presenting her research and findings. She has also contributed to several international publications and plays a role in organizing national meetings focused on pediatric ophthalmology and updates in optical coherence tomography, including angiography.
